Tucker Door & Trim boasts an ever-growing fleet of tractor-trailers and box trucks making regular deliveries to wholesale customers throughout the Southeastern United States, including Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina.
We have immediate opening for a Box Truck Driver at our Monroe, GA facility.
Job Overview
Accomplishes Operational Excellence by providing exceptional customer service for external and internal customers.
Requirements
At least 18 months of proven experience in operating appropriate commercial vehicle
Excellent driving record (No recent moving of driving violations)
Extensive knowledge of D.O.T. rules and regulations
Able to pass D.O.T. physical
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, Etc.)
The ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, ELD, Etc.)
Mathematical aptitude
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communications skills
Highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated
Able to lift up to 50# and push and pull heavy objects
Proficiency in operating electronic equipment (Ex: RF scanners)
High school diploma or equivalent
Responsibilities and Duties:
Follow of D.O.T. rules and regulations
Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventive maintenance
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
Report accidents and violations
Loading and unloading material on trailer / box truck
Maintains vehicle cleanliness
Communicating issues with management
Attention to detail and problem-solving
Strong organizational and planning skills
Able to work with other team members to accomplish tasks and goals
Adhering to safety management standards
Specific areas of responsibility:
Perform daily equipment inspections and report any defects immediately
Log into ELD daily and follow hours of service rules and regulations
Unload and load trailer / box truck at customer sites, Tucker Door facilities and vendors
Ensure customer pickups are done in a timely fashion
Report immediately any quantity discrepancies
Obtain customer signature at time of delivery on electronic device
Input “macros” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process
Ensure material is secured that is loaded into trailers
Report any damaged product immediately
Attend safety meetings and complete safety training in a timely fashion
Immediately report to management any hazards in the workplace
